It was raining yesterday and I went to go buy something. I decided to pass by the car that was parked 3 streets away. I knew that parking it there for almost 3 weeks was not good. I guess someone had seen the car and decided to take it as a target. Then I made it easier for them because I had left a flat-head screwdriver there, which of course, is now gone. I've heard stories as many as 6 dimwits try to steal a sound system in this city at a time. At least whoever did it only wanted the cheap ass radio which I want to replace anyway. It was a crappy Kenwood tape deck. Bent the plastic cover that goes around the thing where the radio goes. Now I'm thinking about not doing an engine swap. Damn bastards! Of course they never close the door so my driver's seat got wet. Actually it was half-closed with the door light on so that caught my attention. Thank goodness I didn't see him otherwise I would of gotten attacked with my own screwdriver. I'm not leaving anything in the car anymore. Then when we went to go move it, it didn't want to shift to third and then not in any gear. Had to shove it into gear. At least the windows are not broken. Makes me realize how easy it is to break in and to steal it and not to park it in the same place for so long. Why would they steal a f'in worthless radio? Geez, how desperate are they?

I'm going to replace that radio with one from a newer Toyota, because the one our Corolla has sounds nice, but's not that loud. I just want something good. I'll have to think of ways to protect it. Maybe making a metal shield around it, wired up to a 110 decibel alarm?

I'm sorry to hear about this! I empathize with you (as I was in a similar situation not too long ago).

There are some pretty good car alarm sales on in my city right now; I should take advantage of them soon.
