I've been wanting to install a set of H4s on the Tercel for a while. I'm a Hella fan when it comes to the 200mm (6054) replacements, and Cibie on the 7" round headlights. On a whim, I decided to drop about $24 (shipped) on a pair of NeoLites on ebay.
They arrived today; shipping took 2 days. I didn't buy bulbs, sincs I had a couple pair of Hella bulbs laying around. The lights look good, with a very minor exception. The glass was fogged on the inside, like they weren't cleaned after the adhesive outgassed. I've seen this once before on a pair of Hellas. Anyway, I carefully wiped down the inside of the glass and installed the lights...and waited for dark.
I just got back from my favorite headlight aiming parking lot, and the lights actually performed well. The low beam has a nice cutoff, and throws about as much light as my HO GEs, but with a better pattern. The highs really wake things up, though. The pattern is tight and long, and they'll be great for nighttime drives on country roads.
All in all, these were a great bargain for the price. I could have spent a bit more to get them with bulbs, and AutoPal lights were another Indian H4 alternative. Once I get my relay harness in, I'll be testing a pair of 100/80 bulbs.
On another note, there are a couple of interesting features to this headlight. One, it has no metal glare shield. With good name-brand H4 bulbs, they're redundant anyway. Second, the pattern on the glass has been changed somewhat from the original AutoPal Cibie knockoffs. Both of these lead me to believe they've been redesigned for more friendly HID conversion.
