ISO Front fenders for 88 T4WD - Canada

Post by beige88 »

I’m looking for some front fenders for my 88’ Tercel 4WD. Located in the Lower Mainland / Sea to Sea region of British Columbia. Willing to drive or pay for shipping, within reason.

Not super picky, willing to make repairs. Anything will be better than the originals, they are toast.

Thanks!

The fenders from any Tercel 83-86 (2 door or 4 door hatchback, FWD wagon, 4WD wagon) will work for you. Have you looked on car-part.com? That's a good resource for NLA parts.

Thanks, yeah I checked that out. Nothing local but will keep an eye on that site, good tool.

Was forwarded someone's contact that apparently has fenders available, but the images of them have me doubtful they will fit. Apparently they are off a 4WD but they look completely different.

The images provided look exactly like the ones on this site: https://www.nationalautobody.com/auto_p ... /to1240108

Those years are for the 3rd gen Tercels (starting in '87). Although I've never seen one, they made the 4WD wagons up until '88 so there can be confusion because of the overlap in Tercel generations. If you're doing a part search for a 2nd gen, enter '86 as the year to avoid getting results for the 3rd gens.
I can verify that the fenders from a 1983 hatchback are identical to a 1984 4wd wagon since that's what I swapped into mine.

ah okay thanks. The seller is adamant that theirs came off a 4WD 88, but I guess this can't be the case. Thanks for the help!

What part of fender is gone? As an emergency repair you could also install plastic wheel wells if fenders are rot as usual.

I'm not sure how desperate you are or how much you're willing to spend on shipping but Mr Wrench has fenders listed for sale in this post:

Thanks for the replies. Not super desperate, mine are rough but may be fixable.

It's surprising just how rare these are for the 4WD Tercel, when it seems like replacement fenders are readily available, either new old stock or aftermarket, for so many vehicles of this era.

While searching eBay, I noticed there are loads of front fenders for the Corolla E80. These look very similar to the 4WD Tercel Wagon Fenders, with a few obvious differences. Notably, the mounts where the corner light would be that area extends farther.

It seems extremely unlikely that these would share some compatibility, but does anyone know if this has ever been tried?

These Corolla fenders do not fit. Front of car is so different. You would need some cutting, welding & painting first. So fixing Tercel fenders can save your money and time.

Just look for Tercel fenders. MrWrench is selling such for example:
