Manual Tranny needed!

Hi!

Am in New Mexico and need a Complete, good-running 5 SPD Manual Tranny for my 1985 Tercel 4WD Station
Wagon so i won't have to sell it for parts.

Hey Mingo,

I see you’ve been here a couple of years. I assume you’ve put some miles on the Tercel? What are the transmission symptoms? Sometimes it might be the input shaft or even broken half-shaft that causes NO movement.

If you swap transmission only, any 4WD transmission will work. If you swap the front diff/transmission together, then you need to confirm the gear ratio is the same as the rear.

Well, i take excellent care of my cars, and this 1 was running great, w MANY new parts. But it doesn't snow much here in the desert, so i decided to sell it as i rarely needed the 4WD. Then 2 wks. ago a Loud noise sent me hurrying to my "new" mechanic and he said there was NO
90 wt. gear oil in it, it had leaked out someplace, ruining the tranny, OMG!! (i take it in every 4 mo. to get the Tr & rear Diff lubed.)
Amazingly, the car still shifts & runs, but is loud.

There's an exact-Same car with a Trans & Transfer case 4 sale in a wrecking yard near me, but the owner does not know if it was good or not.
Also, in Cal. there's one 4 sale, BUT i'm afraid the seller may be a Scammer.

Is there such a thing as a tranny Re-Build Kit, like there is for engines?

So, i'm forced to give up and am now selling this always-reliable car as a parts car for $1800. to someone who can fix it themselves.

Look on the SFe NM Cr List and under 4 sale-by-owner it's still advertised i think. (i'll change the price, etc. asap.)

When my husband died 22 years ago i should have given up on fixing olde cars, i guess.

Here is a $600 transmission in NM, says it’s good, but? It might be worth calling.

PS - 4+ qts is a lot to leak out without some obvious spotting under the car?

Here's a listing you might be able to purchase for the transmission . Might be a little far depending on where you are in NM, but might be worth it

Running w 199,000 miles. But Manual tranny must have
leaked gear-oil, so now it makes a clicking sound tho' full
of fluid.

input shaft has teeth missing. trans is essentially junk. with a junk trans car is maybe worth ~500.

I have a transmission with no front differential I would sell. But I am in Michigan.
