Good evening. Just picked up my first Tercel. It's in pretty rough shape and hadn't run in 3yrs. I've got it going but the speedo isn't working. What are some easy checks for likely causes.
Thanks

Check the cable first. That is usually what it is. You can sometimes lube the cable if it is frozen and get it working again

Speedo cable runs from the transmission to the cluster. I would check it first.

Re: 1983 Tercel Speedo
Ditto on the speedo cable. It's a tight fit to get your hand behind the cluster to disconnect and reconnect it, and the release clip for it is annoying since you can't see it. Be prepared to be annoyed, is what I'm saying.

Thank you, I'll take a look at the cable.
