It's been picked somewhat. The driver window regulator, inclinometer, and some various parts from the engine bay were gone.

Interesting, the engine has been rebuit. I'd wager at around 200k miles and there are 400k on the odo. It has the oldest alternator I've seen for a while.

here's the engine bay. It had a pretty substantial amount of oil coming out of the head gasket and valve cover.

what a shame, that looks like it could have been fixed and put back on the road.

Thanks, garyfish!

I stopped by today and most of it is still there. I grabbed the blower relay, fan switch, and battery tray (which was in surprisingly good condition). The interior is pretty complete. The radiator, starter, head, carb, axles, transmission, drive shaft, rear signal lights, seats, and most of the trim are still there.

^^^ Nice pics, duragauge. Glad you were able to glean some useful parts.

Did you happen to notice the odometer reading? Just curious.

Yep, it was just barely over 400k miles, very impressive. I think it must have been garaged much of its life. When I pulled the blower resistor all the screws looked brand new, whereas mine (only 240k miles) are old and rusty. It also had nice aftermarket floor mats that I was tempted to take.

I couldn't resist grabbing the ever-elusive odometer reset button and clock adjustment knob. Mine are both missing so these will have a new home.

I'm free on Monday and would be happy to pull that for you. I need to drop in there again to get a few things for my '92 F150 anyway. Let me know.

I'm free on Monday and would gladly pull that for you. I don't exactly know how to test it, however. I didn't notice any leaks, but it's been drained. Let me know. Also not sure what shipping would run.

Maybe I'll pull the ones on the '88 and '89 hatchbacks they have there and see if they are similar too. Would make a fun afternoon.

Hi Duragauge,

I saw this posted and have been extremely excited to come through Portland in a few days (Sunday) and visit it. If you plan on going back anytime soon and are free to meet Sunday, could I have you grab me a few things? I need the drivers door, the drivers seat, and the grey trim on the hatch. I'm considering grabbing the whole hatch to be honest...mind has a dent in it and I'm unsure how difficult it will be to pop it out/repair it.

I'm also curious about the state of the carpet. Mine is a bit dingy but I think its been a victim of gear oil contamination. I am trying to figure out how to shake the odor haha.

I don't check this as often as I'd like to but feel free to shoot me a text or call if you end up going, or to talk about things further. two oh ate nine too won fore 33 nine. Happy to cover the cost of the parts and slip ya some extra for your troubles.

someone should go pull that 4wd transaxle assembly, and save it from the crusher. even if bad, it will have useable parts in it to keep other T4wd alive. stock pile all T4wd transmissions you ever find in wrecking yards! the next one needed might be your own. but that way we can save the transmission for future forum members.
