No crank after head gasket repair

Post by Cadendoo22 »

My head gasket blew a while ago and I replaced it but after putting the car back together it won't even crank. Everything has power and I tried jumping it. I can hear a click when I try to crank it but not sure what it is. I've never had problems with the starter or anything so this is kinda out of the blue

Caden,

Confirm strong battery and clean connections first, more than likely your issue if the car has been parked for a bit.

no worries, that kind of oversight happens to everyone. most will never admit to it.

One time I get a complete rebuild finally installed, connected it all up, and it started the first time. it ran for 5 or 6 seconds, but the oil light on the dash was not going out....I shut it down in a hurry. I just remembered I had not put motor oil in the the crankcase yet. that was a close call, I was about to leave it running, assuming there was something wrong with the oil pressure sender.
