He also has a (sold) ad for a butchered Cressida with the same stereo in it so I assume that's the car it came from. I still have the stock unit from my '81 Tercel (not installed). It's just a mono AM radio unit.

i got excited cause i thought the radio for sale was for a first gen tercel. twas sadly disappointed to see it was a double din unit that would work on the 2nd gen tercels.

for anyone curious, the first gen tercels ('79-81) used the old 2 post shaft style radio that is incompatible with single din radios due to its size difference and wiring.

When I had my 1981 I found a Pyle radio that was compatible and had a SD card slot and a clock!
Former Tercel Enthusiast (not a practical family car anymore but they still have a place in my heart)
