bad headlight?

Post by brianp »

So last week my left headlight went out. The brights still worked, but I went out and bought a new sealed beam and replaced it (It's crazy how long it takes to remove them! ), and everything was fine.

THEN, today driving to school, I find that the same light is out again! I'm thinking it's probably just defective; but I'm also going to check the wiring to make sure everything is working. Would there be a problem if the wires were putting out too much voltage? It just seems really wierd for it to go out after less than a week. :?

Well, I went back by Napa, and they didn't have any problems giving me another headlight. We'll see how long this one lasts :?

Make sure it's not loose in the bracket, too much vibration might shorten the light's life. I think the only possible cause of excess voltage could be from a bad alternator and/or regulator.
