Full Restore/Rebuild!

Post by barm »

Almost complete!
Sr5 upgrade!
Looking for black third brake light cover
And SR5 black seats if they were made?
Have and will be installing incline o Meter and intermittent wipers.
Anyone have any leads on these parts to help me complete this project?

I have completely rebuilt the car from bottom up.

Thank you

Great job! I think the closest you will come to “black” seats is the dark blue. Unfortunately, no help on parts, but others will be able to help you out.

There are some late model black and pattern seats but I'm not sure if they were in your part of the world. where are you based? You could get some worn ones reupholstered the covers can be removed with a bit of care.

My '88 SR5 had black/charcoal seats when I bought it but they were trashed (car had been a dog-mobile) so I installed blue seats out of an '83 SR5 (car's gone now too.)
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!
83 SR5 Silver/Blue (Snowmobile/work beater)-totaled but drivable
85 SR5 Blue
88 SR5 White (the 'good' one)-not anymore-totaled
87 fwd silver wagon a/t
87 4wd dx Cream (a/t- not anymore- now m/t)

Thanks for educating me fellas, I don't know if I've seen any pics with the black seats, but good to know they were out there at one time.

The current ones I have are black, and are in fairly good condition. Was just hoping to find an SR5 variant. Would consider reupholstering
