Weber carb install help
Hello!
This is my first post on this forum and I need some serious help. I have an 86 sr5 with the 3AC motor. I bought a new Weber 32/36 to put on it. I have gotten as fas as removing the old carb and everything that went a long with it, and I now have the new carb bolted into place.
I really need help on what to do next, which lines go where? What can be capped off, etc.? Detailed description or pictures would be great! Please don’t be rude either, I am definitely a novice and learning as I go.
also, i have looked on the forum for other people that have done the conversion, but I just need more information than what some of them provide.
Thank you!!!

Re: Weber carb install help
I haven't looked at my car in awhile but I have a weber as well. I think there are only 2 vacuum ports on the weber, both of which on my vehicle go to the vacuum advance ports on the distributor. I capped off or removed everything else.
I live in Texas which is emissions friendly for old cars too. Given that you went with a weber I'd assume it's the same for you.

Alright great, pictures would also be greatly appreciated, and any other insight on the gas lines and any other hook ups that need to be made.

Hi dlb,
Not to hijack the post, but I wasn't sure if perhaps you had access to the pictures that no longer seem to be showing properly in regards to #14 in the FAQ? I have my weber hooked up and routed to the essentials now, but I'd love to route my charcoal canister in-line if I could figure out how it's meant to be routed. I see this referenced in the FAQ but without pictures it's tough for me to see what I need to do.

I would love pictures of someone’s actually hooked up in their Tercel so I can see where everything needs to go

I have found a lot, but I would like more perspective. Again, I am learning, so if I can’t see where something connects, I can’t just guess, I have no idea.

Re: Weber carb install help
The link I provided above gives explicit detail on where to connect the vacuum hoses. Between that and all the photos of Weber installs on the forum, it should be clear about what goes where.
Also be aware that different people choose to hook up different things and leave other things disconnected. A lot of this is personal taste.

Re: Weber carb install help
Don't know if it will help or not, but here are a few photos of my Weber. It came with the car when I bought it, so I can't guarantee that it's hooked up correctly, though it does run alright.

Couple of you tube vids showing how it was done
Key in "toyota tercel 4wd weber" "robert walker" should find them

Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

Re: Weber carb install help
@Duragauge, is that a fuel pressure regulator of some kind on your fuel line into the weber?

Re: Weber carb install help
Yes it is. Weber's like a lower fuel pressure than the stock carb. I can't remember what the pressure is but if you do a search for 'weber fuel pressure regulator' you should find more info on it.
