Lol. I much preferred installing it in the Tercel, all it was was like 8 screws and 1 piece of plastic and boom, new radio's in. Not so much in this one, where you have to fight with an undetachable climate control unit, 4 pieces of plastic, removing the shift knob... Dumb. Wiring through the Tercel firewall and floor is easier too, cause everything is open and accessible

It's too bad shoulder belts for the back were near impossible to get or I'd probably still have at least one!

So did you manage to keep the rest of the fleet? Any plans?

I've still got all Tercels right now. What I would like to do is build a 12x12 shed, then strip both the crashed one and the rotten one. And when I say strip, I mean everything. Body panels, doors, engine, drivetrain, EVERYTHING. That way I've got a ton of parts for any other Tercels in the future that aren't rusted out.

Looking through the website of the company I work for and found a candid shot of my terc in action! Had to haul some lumber in it for that job and it managed to sneak its way into the shot

Part 4
Okay, so this part is my current dilemma. About 2-3 weeks ago I was on the hunt for another wagon to replace my fallen comrade. I found a gold one on kijiji, asking $1500, and dickered him down to $1050. I knew the thing would need a valve cover gasket, cv boots, brakes, tires, struts and was fairly rusted on the back of the rocker panels, but though it wasn't too bad, although I didn't look overly well, and I'm no mechanic. It drove home from Red Deer to Calahoo (~250km), and I could tell it would need brakes ASAP. I took it into my local mechanic shop, and got some VERY bad news... Basically the car is rotten. The mechanic that inspected it says basically everywhere in front of the back tires is rusted out, with a small chunk of intact frame holding her all together. Basically, she will never be road worthy again. That was determined along with a myriad of other issues I was not informed of.

Here's some pics:

So I kinda lost a bunch of cash, and since I'm 18 and living at home, my dad wants me to scrap both my wagons to recover what I can and look for something else. I REALLY don't want to do that, and don't think I will. My mechanic says the engine is in real good shape, minus the leaks, but other than that it should run forever. So that's where I am right now. I've got no clue what do with my cars or parts, but ideally id like to hold onto them until I can get another wagon. I can't spend anymore money on another one, my parents will kill me, and they're pressuring me to get rid of them. I'll keep posted on the situation, and hopefully all goes well.

On another note, if anyone had a frame and body wagon in real good shape for a good price, id be willing to buy for the right price. I don't care if its missing an engine, tranny, rear axle, anything really. I've got the parts to fix it, and its killing me not having a wagon, knowing they'll only get harder to find.
I disagree strongly with your mechanic. He's just too lazy to repair the thing!

So it's been a while since I've been really active, but I though I'd drop an update. As of early January my old crashed green terc is no more. It got hauled away for scrap, but not before any usable parts could be stripped from it. I have the surviving doors and passenger fender, tranny, and other odds and ends that could be saved.

As for my other two wagons, the gold one will meet the same fate if it isn't removed from the property by the end of summer, which I plan on doing, and the bush wagon has been getting some TLC. If you can call it that...

It rides a little smoother now, but dust keeps getting in somehow...
