Anybody have a clean pair of front fenders that would fit my 85 4WD wagon? My dad had to find a hood, grille, headlamps etc after a meeting with a deer, and he says he found that 4WD fenders are specific and 2WD won't work. Can anybody confirm? I think he said the blinker shape is different.
I'm in VT, but the car is set to go to Chicago next month to my little sis who wants to replace the rusted fenders and have it painted.
that's incorrect. the front fenders are interchangeable between all of the second gen tercels. that means all hatchbacks 83-86 and all wagons (both 2wd and 4wd) from 83-87.
he must have tried a fender from a third gen hatchback, which look similar but are indeed different.
might want to check closer on the hatch fenders fitting the wagons, I was given a bunch of front fender corner lights off mid 80s hatch backs and they do not fit the wagons, but the complete fender and light off a hatch back might work
The only possible difference is that on mine, the antenna hole was on the driver's side for both the hatchback and the wagon. Your photo seems to show the antenna on the passenger side.
Here's a photo I had laying around showing the '83 hatchback fender on my '84 wagon. The colour didn't completely match, but the shape itself was the same.

There are 2 T4's near me at Pick & Pull Sherwood Oregon,
there's likely a good set of fenders between them.
I don't recall either having much rust if any... just mold moss and mildew.
We don't have road salt here.
I'm about to leave town, but after May 26th I could look into it more....
if they have not been sent off to crusher yet.
You desperate enough to hire someone to pull and ship them?

I just found some clean ones at a yard in OH, not far off of my sister's route from VT to Chicago! She called them and is going to pick them up on the way! Thanks, though!
