This kind of thing really gets to me note the price in the window. Complete relatively rust-free 1985 sr5 300k.

it is not wrecked, so must have needed some mechanical repair. likely some shop told them it was not worth fixing.
I once missed a "free to good home" nice 1987 SR5 T4wd, on Craig's list by about 40 min. It was a scrap dealer that took it, ended up in the local PicknPull four days later. It just needed a head gasket, I could have fixed that in 3-4 hours. What a shame, it had near perfect interior (I took all of it, and the transmission, driveshaft and rear diff).
Another time I found a near perfect T4wd in picknpull, I pulled the transmission and found the clutch falling apart, with loose parts that must have made a terrible racket when it was driven. Some shop likely told them the trans is trashed without even checking it out.
