tranny about to go i think

well, my tercel makes a really bad whine/high pitched noise when i come off the gas at freeway speeds, kind of a really high frequency vibtation, most likeley the front diff from the sounds of it, and 2nd oppinions.

i'm wondering if this sounds familiar to the people here who have had to replace their transmissions.

I want to change the oil in the tranny, mabey this weekend, because the current tranny oil has water in it. I guess i shoulda changed it earlier, probably would have saved my transmission from certain doom.

Gear whine is pretty normal in these. I wouldn't be worried just yet. But do make sure you have good clean oil in there.

Yeah, mine has had a whine to it since I bought it. Does get louder as I leak trans fluid though. Heh, it's how I know it's time to top up again.
