My 84 SR5 parts car needs to have something done with it...my mother keeps bitching about it...and everything else...it was given to me several years ago by somebody else on these forums. It was already in a wrecked/junk state when i got it then i brought it back to life enough to use it as a get-drunk-with-friends-and-drive-around-in-the-woods...it was quite fun...but that activity lost its luster and i have enough projects including the miraculous diesel swap that i only ever seem to turn one bolt on every 6 months or so...
so anyway, i refuse to scrap anything that is usable on this car and will not disassemble it unless somebody wants some of this stuff, as it is its own nice storage pod as it is for now. I wouldnt mind donations for some of the items...but frankly im fine giving the stuff away if it will be used and not scrapped or trashed. You must come get anything. i will not ship anything.
up for grabs off the car:
full set of tan SR5 seats in OK condition...physically OK, no rips holes or chews, but filthy and will need cleaning.. (mice in car(but no chewing activity for whatever reason)) free to good home...donation of $20 or so if you feel like it...
2 semi complete engines...the one actually in the car is known running and has around 175k on it i think if memory serves...will have to be removed. other engine is already removed and in the back of the car in the spare tire area and was from an automatic car, unknown milage but likely lower.. again free to good home or optional $20 donation...
headliner, various tan plastic trim.. free or optional donation.
the shell of the car itself if anybody wants it/doors etc is also up for grabs after i get everything off that i want for spare parts...however i doubt anybody will want it as its very rusty and banged up...once again, free or optional donation.
I will be keeping for myself:
The transmission
glass
lights (unless somebody really needs one, i have several spares already)
rear end/running gear
carb off of engine in car, which i had borrowed from the engine in my 86...you can have the 84 carb that came off of it originally that needs rebuilt..i boxed it up and stored it for later..
torque converter off other engine in rear of car
various other brackets and anything else relevant to my 85 auto & 86 (diesel swap)cars.

I am looking for a rear bumper. Any luck with that one? I will be driving through that area from upstate NY to Baltimore on Thursday, July 1. Let me know...
Thanks,

Re: Parting out junker car in Pennsylvania
I would be interested in the carb for sure and curious to see what trim pieces you have, such as the a/c vents, the rear light covers, the drivers side rear trim piece(the one behind/above the rear seat) the front drivers side door panel maybe? The front drivers side window regulator would be nice if you have it! Ohh what about the heater/ac controls including the cables? The heater control valve possibly? I'm just throwing out parts that I need lol, if you don't have or if your keeping any of the parts I listed, it's fine, like I said I'm just throwing it out there haha. I really need a drivers side tail light, but if you don't want to get rid of one it's completely understandable! I'll also look tomorrow and make a list of anything I need! I really wish you were closer, I would definitely pick up an engine haha... Hmmm, fuel sending unit and gauge maybe the whole gauge cluster, again, only if you have it and don't personally need it haha. Also what badges/emblems do you have, if any?

is the frame rusty? Maybe it's too hard to change/harvest a frame. Mine has frame damage, and it needs about 300 to fix it.

Re: Parting out junker car in Pennsylvania
im sorry i havent responded to this sooner...i just ended a career truck driving the last 6 months and havent had any time for much of anything...only been home a week as of right now. The frame is pretty rusty and beat up...the car was in a serious wreck and had the windshield smashed from the previous owner and the rocker panels are totally rotten, fuel tank/lines totally rotten (but still function even with open rust hole in top of the tank) among other things. When i got this car it was already trashed...and i got it running just enough to become a field car...then we beat up even more driving around in the woods drunk numerous times...so its definitely so far gone its probably not worth fixing as a whole car.
what i would really like to do is find a nicer FWD car or one with a good body but bad trans or engine that is the same color scheme as this (red with brown interior) and just keep alot of it for spares and swap the good parts from the junker into the car with a good body...but enough may be enough...i have 3 tercels including this junker/rolling storage pod, and then all the other cars and projects wich is something like 8 vehicles total... Sunday i am going to go look at a Colt Vista...or 3 junker ones, and see if im interested in cobbling together one of those that runs and restoring it.
