headlight trim

My sr5 is a 1987, but the front clip was replaced some time over the years. I dont have sealed beam headlights, they are replaceable halogens. The headlight trim is plastic and comes off with a couple of screws and includes the corner lens. I havnt been able to find replacements. What year is my front end ?88? anyone have the lens' I need for both sides? Thanks

Both the 87 and 88 have the front end with composite headlights. Have you tried the dealer for the parts you need?

I have not tried the dealer. aaai guess I didnt really consider it for a car this old. That will be my next stop. Thanks

The dealer can still get a lot of the parts for the Tercel wagons. I suggested it because I've never run across an 87 or 88 wagon in a pick-n-pull yard in all the years I've been going.

Why are there no 87's at the junkyards? Mine had one 87 which I put on the road, two 86's, and an 85. It seems that most people on this site have 85 or below. Someone create a new poll: What year is your Tercel?

There is an old poll out there that is titled the same, you just have to look for it.

In the old Yahoo message board someone checked the price at the dealer for those composite headlights and they are overpriced. I forget how much they wanted for them and some junkyards know that so they gouge for them. 3A-C Power and GTSSportCoupe should be able to tell you about the composite headlights. I believe GTSSportCoupe was the one who needed one when he had his '87.
