OK Mr lovem.I put the new bell housing in installed the tranny .tomorrow i will put her front legs back on fill her with sauce and SHOOT THE MOON !!!!

Now if anyone is curious about what I did exactly ,
Here it is .first cleaned all the sad tears of oil stain's and build up .we want to be able to see fresh leaks not old crap heating up and dripping ..I think it helps it breath too.
Next switched out input shaft bought a big sheet of oil resistant gasket paper . scraped off carefully the remnants of prior gasket gunk . made a gasket . and with my finger spread a THIN layer of black oil resistant non hardning gasket goop to the paper on the tranny side . Then stuck it on did the same on the paper bellhousing side .then once the bell housing was on I (in a diagonal pattern ) tightened the s o b dowm .
Then I took a piece of 800 grit sand paper and shined up the the thrust or throw out bearing shaft . put a THIN LAYER of grease on said shaft. Then i installed bearing with the damned spring .then I ran my magnet in the transfer axle case with the gears by first taking the cover off. Seen Nothing , so i sealed it up gasket style tighten it up and then ....next is what took the
Longest .. ....  :x   :P  :?: :!: :x :? :o :P ..........,, then once the tranny was in and on installed the tranny mount and here I am ..thank you very much mr lovem . Please pm me regarding compensation for your act of tercsonification. .tomorrow it's cvaxle and stuff .

OK here's the latest .so i start putting her back together and I got about half way into it and I thankfully decided I better check the clutch .good thing I did because the damed spring popped off and the clutch wasn't engaging. So after cursing and kicking the dog cause it was all his fault (just kidding I don't have a dog) I dropped the tranny again fixed the clutch issue and started over .i started at 10 am and got done with every thing around 10pm so after the tranny i was in I cleaned out the cv input hole with a clean rag put in the new seals using the handle of a big framing hammer because I was perfect size and the edges are nice and rounded got those in I put them in just enough to be in all the way so when I put the cv axle in it would push the rest of the way and seal perfectly .then I unscrew the drain plug 8 turns and unscrewed the other drain plugs and let the rest of the gear oil that had settled drain out .then tightens drain plugs and got about 4 quart's of gear oil in .put in the rest of the fresh gear oil in the rear diff.went to go and start it ,,,and nothing happened .not even a click by this time I'm getting a little heated up and the gear oil that i was wearing was starting to smoke .so I called my cousin bring over your charger .two hours later he shows up we charge it and still nothing .then I remembered I disconnected a plug to manuver the starter and clutch cable out of the way .plugged it in started right up.let it run for a while .I'm hoping that all the smoke was from all the degreaser and oil from my hands burning off .took it for a test drive and it seems to be fine .knock on wood. Just gotta go get some cotter pins and wait for the next temper tantrum from her royal highness .
thank you to all that helped .

and a special thank you to Mr gotta love em who made this particular resurrection possible ..SWEET GEORGIA BROWN WAS THAT FUN!

congratulations, dropping and installing a transaxle is a major job. I have done it perhaps six or seven times and it is the one job I dread the most of everything else I do on these cars. there is no easy way, it is always a lot of trouble, jiggling, shaking, scraped knuckles, beating, until it all comes together.

BTW, I would check the condition of the clutch and rear seal when ever the trans is out because it is such a big job to R n R the trans. Though both last a long time (I get about 100k miles out of the clutch, and about double that out of the rear seal), I just have had one of those go bad a few months after I had the trans out for another reason.

good luck.

[*? Well I must say as much as I had a little student -princple-type feelings for you guys (scolding me on my innapropriate avatars and telling me to shut up [too many add on threads instead of editing .and telling me you have no idea what the hell I'm talking about because half the time what I was referring to was out o,f FSM .the other half I simply to put it humbley ....did not know what the hell I was talking about] amongst the crap)
I have grown to respect you fine fellers as not authoritive but as........well a few guys that .....(well for the life if me still don't understand because I'm one too) just loves these cars .I'm getting all choked up .
Oh and I already did the clutch bearing seal spring grease torque bleed curse thing when I switched out the engine .but I appreciate the notion .God bless you all and ........God bless our tercys'
Make sure you always keep your nuts bolts together for each section of the car .trust me. Ps I might have to request I will pay a little money for ,,some front brake hard ware .just the bolts that keep your brakes working.

: I am honored . And i feel privileged .thank you
But back to what we do here .
So that 8 turn screw lets delve into that little mysterious ritual .so I turned it out 8 times while injecting (check this out ) a whole 4 quarts that's right one US gallon of my favorite substance in the whole wide world .....gear oil. Now I say this because I have heard a lot of people say that only 3 .5 quarts is what it can take due to residual oil that is left in there .so my question is this guys, after I got the gear oil in I started it and let it run. Then shut it off and tightened that 8 turn drain/flood control bolt
Was I correct in that action .the action of letting it run for a while and then tightening it .

AND IT DOES NOT LEAK AS FAR AS I KNOW !!! :o

That would have had no effect - after all, the gears were not turning. And - it is not mentioned in the FSM.
Dunno about an AT - never having owned one, I've never paid any attention to AT info.

Tighten after filling; no need to run the engine.

Ok well it wouldn't be normal if there was nothing wrong with this graceful chariot of neediness
So here's the new deal .after AL the above work the rear diff leaked .so I drained the blood and Un did the fLange (4 bolts on drive line) undid the 9or spb12mm nuts and wiggled it right off . Cleaned it up put a new gasket and it still leaked .so here I am now EXCEPT this time the removable part of rear diff will not come out .I feels like it's on a really tight spring .any idears

WRONG you DID have to.

At the risk of sounding like an a** hole you didn't do the job right the first time and now your doing it again!

Pull the axles so you can pull the diff ALL the way out then clean it right glue it right and be done with it. :oldgeek:

PS

I'm a really nice guy
