Thanks Petros. I expect 2015 to be a better year. Continue with my recovery.

I've asked other mechanic friends of mine about this oil problem and they basically tell me to forget about it. It drives me nuts because I know it shouldn't happen.

The oil seal that walked out was an SKF brand. I have never really liked them because they usually can be pressed in by hand. I always add a bead of silicone to the outside as insurance but this one slipped out anyway. I replaced it with a National brand and it had to be driven in. No way it would ever move.

Petros, I was wondering if you installed your oil catch can yet. Is it baffled internally? Crazy expensive prices up here. Want to make one but not sure how they are designed internally.

I have not installed it because the engine I got it for finally blew out #4 piston, so I replaced the whole engine with a 4ac a year ago last November, which I should have done a long time ago. no issues with oil blow by in over a year of hard driving.

I will try and remember to take a look inside it when i get home, perhaps take pictures to post here.

As I recall, it just has a long tube and an short one into the chamber, I do not recall any baffles. It catch the oil in the bottom and allows the gases to go on out the other tube. east to make. I bought mine off ebay for something like $30, looks nice anodized aluminum shamber with a mount and fittings. The temp one I made from a plastic oil jug, some hose and clamps, worked just as well. I intend to install the one I bought on my 4age engine swap Tercel, when I finally get to it.
