Don't mind the double post, but I kept getting an error while trying to edit an attachment into my previous post, I blame my work internet.

New hoses, radiator, and a licence plate bolt holding on the ground for the fan switch!

those hoses are a different shape than on the '83 and newer second gen Tercel, looks like you solved the problem. good work.

You always want a bit of extra length on the hoses so as the engine wiggles around on the mounts it does not pull one off. I did some severe heat damage to my Nissan when I jury rigged a mazda radiator into it (hey, it is what I had, and it worked...for a while), and the hose was not quite long enough, I stretched it on and it held by the clamp for about 3 months. Than one day the whole thing pulled off and blew all the coolant out of it in about 12 seconds.
