OK, mate...
I HAD to do a Google for "Ozploitation" and discovered the genre. The Wiki article had a list of films, among which was - BMX Bandits. Being a recovered bicycle store owner (and former BMX Cruiser racer), I had to click on it.
And the star (seen glowing at the Academy Awards last night)?
Nicole Kidman !
Tom M.

P.S. OT, but the absolute best retort/put-down I have ever heard was from her on a Leno (?) show. When asked how life
.....was different since she and Tom Cruise divorced, she replied: "Well, now I can wear high heels..."
T4WD augury?
"Oh, do not ask, 'What is it?' Let us go and make our visit."
T.S. Eliot - "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock"
"Now and then we had a hope that, if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates."
Mark Twain

nicole kidman is alright but she's got nothing on tom. look at his resume: top gun. rain man. born on the 4th of july. interview with the vampire. eyes wide shut. vanilla sky. he was unreal in tropic thunder. i don't care if he's a nut job in his personal life, he's a talented, versatile, and enduring actor.

just my thoughts on mr. cruise.

I've always liked him too. Jerry Mcguier (sp) is one of my all time favorite movies...should be watched once a year or so to get your values back in line. :)

i was really pumped to finally watch that one a few years back but it never really connected with me. it was huge though so maybe the hype just got to me and i wound up with some unrealistic expectations. maybe i'll try it again sometime.

has anyone seen the latest lady gaga video? i've had roughly zero interest in her since i first heard her unremarkable brand of pop music (although i've always liked her david bowie-esque presentation of said fluff) but her new video is something else. it's got a f*cking DARK sci-fi film sequence at the beginning that should have most of her 12-yr old fans turning it off before they get anywhere near the actual song. pretty neat.

That's the heavy stuff (I turned off the second she started to sing). Evil as protector of the beauty of good. hhhmmmm. Maybe she's on to something.

yes, SUPER heavy. all the birth imagery was pretty disturbing to me too. eeeewwwww. the rest of the video is actually pretty neat too, regardless of the song. strange costumes and symbolism. there's a unicorn at the end that i think is a blade runner reference.
