FYI, I have had this issue with other Beck/Arnley parts, really BAD screw-up in their packaging. So much so I will never agree to get any B/A parts again.
These were parts I order through the local parts store, the last straw was a set of new piston rings, 0.040" over sized. The box was labeled correctly, but when assembling my engine the rings had over a 1/4" gap, clearly the wrong ring. I than compared the whole set, and there were several different size rings in the SAME BOX, none were the correct size. I took the box back and showed the store salseman, and he was just as stunned. We pulled another box off the shelf, and found the same issue. I said lets try a different brand, and he refunded me the amount (it was at an Autozone I think) and rush ordered a different brand for me at no extra charge. It was not the store's fault, but they did sell me the parts. It was not just the B/A part number, but the miss-packaging. Can you imagine, how is it even possible to put different size piston rings in the same box?!?!
The salesman said B/A had been pretty good in the past, but since they were bought out this kind of thing was happening more often. I suggested they discontinue buying B/A parts all together, it was a major hassle and delayed me getting my engine back together by several days.
So never again will I get B/A parts. Rock Auto sold you the part, but to try and hide behind "beck/Arnley says it will fit" is total BS, as if the customer is such a dolt he can not tell the difference? That B/A knows more about he car you have right in front of you? If RA wants to stay in business they need to trust the customers and vet the parts suppliers better.
This is one of the problems I have had with mail order, it takes longer to resolve issues. I had a return situation with AutoPartsWarehouse.com (great prices too). They resolved it quickly without questions asked (they sent the wrong parts), but if I used a local shop they can correct in one day (or less), not 5 or more. And I have someone local to chew out (which I have done before). It usually works to get the situation resolved.
