Lookin good!

Those 80's 626's were prone to severe rustout. Been a long time since I've had one in my bay. The last 3 were condemned due to suspension collapsing into the trunk. Sure don't miss servicing those cars. Not very mechanic friendly.

Interesting word about the '80s 626s... I guess that's why you don't see them around STL anymore, whereas old Toys are everywhere (not that they were impervious to the tinworm).
There were a LOT of Mazdas around STL in those days, probably second only to Toys; there were a couple of very aggressive Mazda dealers with XLNT pricing - and the cars offered a lot for the dough.
As mentioned in my link - the air still blew cold, it still got 30+ mpg in suburban driving (40+ hwy), everything still worked (even after 18 years), it still had killer looks, no o/s rust, and only 96K miles.
That rear suspension failure due to rustout was exactly what my car was close to... I guess something in the Mazda design caused the salt and crud to accumulate there.
Incidentally, that IRS gave great handling to the car.

You have a nice T4WD there. I feel my curiosity has been fulfilled now that we've had a good glimpse of Goldie, thanks Tom. However, I think my Goldie is a bit depressed after looking at the beauty of yours...

Just got back on here again and found these pictures.

Tom,

That car looks great. The paint looks surprisingly good for a metallic and it sits right over it's wheels - especially considering the 14" wheels. Great attention to detail - well done!

I like the Fact sticker too. And Voldemort - I knew the mort means death, but vold? Had to google it. I did know that there was a Hillman Minx? in one of the Harry P movies but not much else... I must be out of touch...

Your Terc looks great - lots of work there Tom.

Thanks, Shawn!
Actually, the car in the forest in the Potter movies is a Ford Anglia. A new Potter theme park opened up in CA (?) recently and an Anglia is in it!
The Voldemort reference is to the baddie.
