My tercel:: 1985 Navy Blue Tercel Wagon SR5 4x4 now with Weber 32/36!

I added an extra throttle spring INSIDE the OEM spring. Also the fast idle adjustment on the front of the carb...if set according to specs can cause a fast idle.
Takza - any chance you can suggest a spring package from Harbor Freight or elsewhere?

After fiddling and trying several different things, I finally got the guts to simply remove the stock carb and clean it out. It turned out that the butterfly valve at the base of the 32mm port was gummed up with some sooty matter which was causing poor seating (allowing too much air to pass through, high idle).

Think it's the one to the right in the center....at any rate...one of them fits just right.
