The hinderance to changing the ring and pinion is how expensive they are. If you can score one used or find an interchangeable one at the junkyard, it wouldn't be that bad. The AE86 rear housings are the same, it's just the axles that are sometimes different. An LSD can be put in as long as the axles are the right size for the LSD.

So, has anyone actually done this?

Will an AE86 third member fit into a 4wd terc rear axle housing? That would be possibly the simplest route to getting LSD in our cars.
