Try your High Altitude Compensation thingy. Red-ish little module with vac lines to it on the passenger fender. If something went amiss in it, it might potentially cause some issues with idle and high altitude driving coming down to lower altitudes. It could be sticky thus causing the break-heal deal.
Oh. Just re read. Solenoid deal.
Hey, our stuff is.... mediocre at best! Don't be hatin' the Zone! Though, I'm allowed to because I'm on the inside.
Holy crap. I work at that place and might be manager soon. How depressing. LOL. Hey, our Duralast stuff is usually pretty good though. BUT DO NOT BUY OUR FUEL PUMPS! MASTER AND AIRTEX ARE PIECES OF *insert happy words about constant warranty swaps*
Anyway.....
You could be having a problem with your emissions computer. If you could call it a computer. Remans do float around and I may have a used one from an 86 FED floating around that worked when I pulled it way back when I got Silver running. Hey, I'm allowed to say 3 years is way back! Thats between a sixth and seventh of my life! lol
