I didn't even notice the panel thing! Crazy.

The right front corner has been hit ever so slightly, but that it. May have something to do with it.

What sort of mpg's in town should I expect?

Yea. Maybe some Seafoam in the carb, some in the plug holes for 1/2 hour, and some in the oil as a flush and put in some new oil and a filter? Should have decent valve stem seals if the head gasket was changed?

i did something similar: 3oz. in carb (while car was running, of course) 6oz in the gas tank and 8oz in the oil. I drove 5 miles every day. 20 days later (100 miles) i drained out all the oil (after i warmed up the engine) and threw in some mobil 1 full synthetic (at the cost of 6.88 a qt. :shock: ) and it made a worlds difference. you would never guess the engine had nearly 200k miles the way it was running.

You're not supposed to drive with seafoam in the crankcase. It's a detergent that'll wipe out your bearings. I think you're just supposed to idle with it, and change oil immediately thereafter.

Thats not true.
Either that or me having done that for 150 miles or so? 40k ago is going to bite me in the ass soon.

You can drive with SF in the crank in smaller doses. For 3k miles you can. It just helps keep it all spiffy. In higher doses or in really gummy engines it'll loosen up all kinds of crap that'll potentially block your filter, therefore killing bearings from low pressure.

I like to drive with 2 cans in the tank, after having run a can through the carb in 2 stages, and with a can in the oil before a change. I'm just that daring :twisted: 8) Ok, I don't really do the crank all the time.... I'm more likely to do Marvel in the oil than SF. Dunno why. It works though. And makes the oil smell sweet. lol.

Want pushing it? Try running a gallon of SeaFoam in your 35 gallon tank on your F-250 Powerstroke. Hell yes. Expensive, but it knocks the crap clean out. BTW, I don't really recommend that to people...... lol
Though, consider that a diesel can safely run on pure SF. In fact, a good way to get your old Benz or your pre-PD TDI to stop "nailing" is to run the fuel intake and return tubes into a quart of SF or LubroMoly DieselPurge and run it dry. Ok, don't pull air but you get the point. It dissolves deposits quite rapidly.

Ah, fair enough. Guess I heard wrong.... a friend spun the bearings in his mighty max right after putting the stuff in and driving from Seattle--> Portland.


On another note, the daily driver that I *was* holding out on came back up for sale. How much is my little tercel worth? Anyone interested?
