Usually if you buy the oil in an autoparts store they will allow you to swap out the filter to another brand of similar or less cost.

That oil filter adapter is great set up and a great price. Amazing they can send it all the way from china for less than $15.

Worrisome; similar part on amazon had some bad reviews about not enough thread to hold it in.
But $15 is worth givin it a try, if it fails maybe I can find an allthread tube and when the oil filter comes off I'd just have to juggle it and the spacer.

One should always double check the fit of all fittings and fasteners when using any after market parts. If necessary modify or replace them so it will work.

I recently bought a US made timing belt kit for a Honda civic and installed it. It was from D and J parts, and it nearly trashed the very low miles engine on the honda. The clamp bolt on the belt tensioner was alike one millimeter longer and it bottomed in the hole right where it would normally tighen on the tensioner. Afater driving it for an hour the engine shut off, the belt had jumped a few teeth and the ECM detected a differenace between the cam and crank sensor timing. I had to diagnose the problem, take it all apart again and find the belt tentioner only had spring tension on it, and I replace the bolt with the original Honda bolt. I wrote the company but they have not responded, so I am going to spread their irresponsible competent kit assembly all over the internet.

Whats our alternators put out in amps max?
I have old 2 3/8" simpson analogue amp meter, from a 24 volt chris craft boat I think I might like to use.

Depends on internal regulated, or external regulated, but I think 50-60 amps is ballpark.

Thats sounds about right, I hooked the 50 amp in line off the output from alternator and after having it disconnected for a few seconds and the gauge ran near 45 for nearly a minute, then dropped down to under 30 - I have a 100 amp simpson too, but I think it's blown.
As you can tell I really like gauges!

So I've decided on a right hand A pillar triple pod
Image

I've done some measurements and it looks like it will be pretty close to a perfect fit for the drivers side door panel, the only thing I'm unsure about is how well the oil pressure line will handle continuously flexing at the door jamb, maybe I can get a length of steel braided hose to run through that area to minimize the repetitious stress of a 67.5° movement of the opening/closing door.

I'll also probably use double sided tape to mount the pillar pod and route feeders through an existing hole in the door panel so as to not cut any more holes in the door panel to preserve it.

I already have one, I'll just use it.

Dude your a tall guy like me you sure that thing won't get in the way of your knee?
I would try to find/fabricate one that goes across the top of the headliner unless you have a sunroof of course.

No sunroof, I had thought of that, but potential of having to work with the A pillar routing stopped that idea in its tracks, I'll look under the plastic cover again, maybe I was too rash in deciding against that - I do like the headliner idea pretty ok, but my left knee never really exists in that area of the door panel, just the window crank.

Yea I suppose the window crank is the only thing really in the way of a knee
