Trans leak after seal repairs.

Post by Turdcelbrother »

I got my clutch replaced as well as both cv axle seals and the rear main engine seal. It leaked gear oil before the repair. It still leaks slightly, any other potential areas for leaks if gear oil on the underside of the trans.

The 4wd shifter shaft is a likely spot, you can find info on the transmission seals here: viewtopic.php?t=11801

maybe you should have replaced the input shaft seal on tranny while you had it apart. That being said it rarely leaks even when it is somewhat hardened. if it does leak, oil will come from top of differential housing. The 4wd shaft seal and the rear driveline seal are both possibilites. then the front axle seals. wipe everything down till dry then drive and check for leaks
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
