front diff/transmission oil

need help filling this beast back up, our fuel line hose hookup is taking way too long (half an hour for one quart)

my friends sunbeam alpine has a hole in the floor to fill it up, should we drill? turkey baster with an elbow? how do you do this!!!

You can get most of it in with the nozzle type plastic bottles thru the front filler opening with the front up on ramps...buy 5 qts..use the last qt to finish up. Have to hold the bottom UP....and squeeze.

I use a funnel and some PVC tubing and run it up underneath the hood. It takes a while, but there's usually something else that needs to be done while waiting for the oil to flow. I use 1/2" tubing, the biggest they sell at Canadian Tire, which is the perfect size to squeeze into my funnel without leaking.

we ended up buying clear tubing, putting the end of the containers nozzle into the tube, the tube fit nicely into the back filler hole (we had the back jacked up nice and high) then we poked a hole in the bottom of the oil container, and shoved the air compressor in that hole

only took 30-60 seconds for each container

you also have to loosen the back DRAIN plug 6-8 turns so that the oil can flow to the front of the transmission whilst you are filling

basically its a big greasy pain in the ass

That air pressure idea is a good one...I have a windshield washer motor hooked up to some tubing & a gallon jug...but it takes about 5 mins per quart and the motor gets hot...works though as long as the motor lasts...if you stop and let it cool for awhile.

I have a small 12V compressor...a tire valve snapped into the lid of a washer fluid plastic jug...with the other line from the bottom of the jug to the trans might do it...compressor motor has a fan...will take the heat.

Put in your 4.1 qts...put the compressor on the valve...and away she goes. Just watch the other end for sure...you might end up lubing your driveway or garage.

its pretty much a given you are going to lube up your driveway or garage, unless its not your first time changing tranny oil on the tercel

With the washer motor...I use some vinyl tubing and the stepped clip end or whatever it is.... that came with the hand old oil pump I was using...it holds the hose in the filler opening.

Last time I kept most of it off the driveway.
