My Son is a big General Lee fan and as a tribute, we took my hoopty, took some colored duct tape, and a couple of hours later, we had a General Lee. It does of course have the Dixie air horns. He and his friends took it to the premier last night. He has had a ball with his friends and coworkers climbing in and out of the windows, sliding across the hood, and blasting the horns.

Duct tape is a definate staple. It don't take much to entertain us here in Georgia.

Hoopty is a slang word for car, believed to have originated in hip-hop vocabulary. The word can be used as a generic term for any automobile, but connotes an embarrassing or a less-than-desirable car. Hoopties are often contrasted against the more-desirable vehicles often mentioned in rap and hip-hop music.

Wikepedia....

I was a wonderin'...what the hell is a hoopty? :D

I have an orange Tercel.
It's been suggested to me to do the 01 on the doors for a general lee effect.
Then I heard about someone with an old Datsun who did this and got pulled over by the cops a lot. I guess it just says to cops "I'm a trouble maker, pull me over". And with the nazi cops we have around Calgary, it just seemed like a bad idea. I used to get pulled over when I drove my old 68 plymouth fury.
I guess I could do the duct tape thing to the tercel, but I'd be afraid of the paint ripping off when I pulled the tape off.

That has always been the plan Typrus, Just haven't got a place to paint yet. It will happen in the near future....Oh yeh, the General is a Charger not a Challenger.

Takza, don't feel bad. I ask the same thing when they started talking Hoopty.

The Movie was...OK...The car seens where good. A lot of foul language and tasteless jokes. I think Jay Leno summed it up correctly. "If you want to see a 4 star movie..go see the Dukes of Hazzard 8 times."
