These are "real" mpg figures posted by drivers vs EPA numbers. Only one T4WD wagon at 22 mpg.

My fuel mileage has recently taken a turn for the better.....much better, acutally.
I had issues with the catalytic converter, then the timing. So, in the last couple of months, I have taken the catalytic converter off, replaced the vacuum advance, and had to replace the timing belt. The timing was also adjusted to factory specs., so now it idles at 800-900 RPM, instead of 1200 RPM. I also replaced the PCV valve, and installed a new air filter.

Fuel mileage before all this was done : 27-28 mpg.
Fuel mileage now : 32-33 mpg.

I'm pleased ! :)
1984 Tercel 4wd Dlx. - 192K miles.
1985 Tercel 4wd SR5 - 185K miles (not running)
1986 Tercel 4wd Dlx - 210K miles (dd)

Only 3 to go for the whole set ! lol
