Replacing LH Engine Mount
Last year, I replaced all the under carriage rubber components on my Tercel, with the exception of the LH engine mount and the gearbox mount (the latter I haven't been able to find in Oz, UK or the US), mainly because rubber deteriorates with time . Does anybody know if it's possible to replace the LH engine mount without disconnecting the AC compressor, which as you know is in the way?

Re: Replacing LH Engine Mount
I haven't had a response on the above, would that be because you guys have your air conditioning pump on the right hand side of your Tercels, seeing that you have left hand side steering and ours is on the rhs?

These might be of help:

Note that I did not remove the compressor, as at the time I'd hoped to restore AC - which was just a dream...

Re: Replacing LH Engine Mount
actually I think it is possible, but access is a bit of a chore. loosen one end, and than raise the engine as far as you can helps you see what you are doing.
Even if you have to remove the a/c compressor there is no reason to remove the hoses, keep it pressurized and the hoses attached. loosen the bolts and than just hang or block up the compressor in place to allow you access to the engine mounts bolts.
