that rust is so typical of prairies and other places that salt their roads heavily. hideous.

despite being an sr5, it looks like this one does not have an inclinometer. just like the sr5 84 parts car i owned that didn't have one. so odd.

yes, all sr5's were manual trans. automatic was only available in the DLX's.

trivia: i read on this forum a few years ago that sr5 probably stood for 'sport rally 5-spd.' not sure if that's true or not but it sure sounds neat.

As I recall (from before a LOT of you were born), Toy used the SR5 designation on its top range of various models - there were also SR5 Corollas and p'ups - maybe Celicas, Supras, and Camrys, but I've forgotten on those.
Regardless, all SR5's had to have a 5-speed MT - but as we know, not all 5-speeds bore the "SR" moniker; that was reserved for the up-equipped range.

I have an 84 SR-5 that didn't have an inclinometer, I was told all '83 SR-5's had them and it was an option for '84's I junked 3 '83's and they all had them.I put one of them in my '84 and the connector for it was down by the heater fan, I just had to plug it in. I seldom write into the site but I'm ALWAYS reading other members information. For those wondering who Iam, I'm DCN's Dad, my 'ol girl now has 817000km's on her I bought her 25 years ago for $1200.00,it had 202000kms on it, it is by far the best car I ever owned, and the thing is it still works like the day it was brand new

A half-million miles is quite an accomplishment. :-) Oldfaithful, you put it in kms. Are you in Canada? I'm in SK.

I'm not Jim, I know Jim, and I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada. I live about 30-40 miles from Jim and I'm DCN's father and we live 15 miles apart. I think Jim and I can smell old Tercs no matter if they are in buildings or 50 miles back in the woods, we WILL find them, we have both had our fair share of them.
