Going to bump this, when you replaced the oil pressure sender, how did you get to it? Do you have AC? there isn't much room in there in my AC tercel.

Re: Oil pressure light!! What to do?
I can't remember for sure, but it seems like I unbolted the whole a/c and alternator bracket off the side of the engine. I either did that or I pulled all of my a/c related equipment out when I did it. It didn't work anyway and I didn't feel like messing with the a/c everytime I went to work on the car haha. Good luck!
Re: Oil pressure light!! What to do?
i think I accessed mine on my a/c equipped '87 fwd by removing the engine block coolant drain (both pieces) and unscrewing it with channel locks. I definitely did NOT remove the a/c stuff (too lazy!)
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!

I always thought that the block drain was even harder to get to on an AC car...I'll have to take another look.

Re: Oil pressure light!! What to do?
Seems that my car is showing the same symptoms. The dummy light only comes on if the car is idling under 1k. I rebuilt the engine last year and I only have about 30 miles on it now. It did used to do it all the time before so I'm hoping it's just the sending unit as well. Been driving it all day for work today and it is an absolute pleasure. I love this damn car!

Did you replace the oil pump when it was rebuilt? Jw, it does sound exactly like my problem though, it's a pretty straight forward fix at least!

Re: Oil pressure light!! What to do?
I almost replaced absolutely everything. The only thing I didn't replace was the front crank seal. I don't even know why I didn't do it because it seems to be leaking now. -_-

Re: Oil pressure light!! What to do?
Well thats good, hopefully it's just the sensor. And ewwww, that's no fun! I pretty much did the same thing with my rebuild and had to replace the preinstalled crank seal a few miles into the break in stage haha.
