Thanks ill post more pics
I scrubed the blue off and I love them even more.
just got back from longer drive around on free ways
they drift along with less rpm keeping with trafic
havent tested braking yet. Im quite impressed with the tread its kinda agressive it is a 40 year old
desighn thats gotta say something as mostly heavy high horsepower guys buy this tire and vw bug guys.
its rated all season including light snow they claim although its a very old tire the materials are modern.
Have always put bfg all terain t/a ko on my pick ups load range c have loved the look too.
as you can tell i have a boner for my car and its new shoes.

btw i was un aware that my miata daisy spoked 14 were rubbing on the front right side it surprised me
as i dont remember having a rub issue or i never looked weird maybe wheel bearing?
Image
the shinny ring is about a 64th deep and clean checked new rims they clear by a good margin at the caliper
sorry about my typing im using thumbs in the dark where spell check?

man, that looks awesome. i think the larger wheels and tires make the car look so much more capable, like less of an econobox. i found the same thing when i put 195/60r15's on my 4wd corolla wagon.

your car looks like it's in fantastic shape, too.

dlb
thanks i think it looks sweet too.
my car looks fantastic but has some issues i need to take care of.
cv boots broken both sides and steering bellows too.
small oil leaks i need to fix
shocks and struts maybe original i dont know.
weber carb with sometimes heavy gas smell need to figure out possibly hook up charcoal can?
etc minor stuff
I am on a fix things binge right now i just bought a home and mortgage less than rent so i have
3 extra hundred a month now (i bought house i was renting and didnt have to move!)
steering pulls to left ever so slightly with new tires didnt notice with worm out ones i replaced so i need to take care of that asap so tires dont wear funny.
it makes sense to me that i doo cv axles-struts (kyb)-and alighment at same time some time soon.
maybe ball joint -swaybar bushings-steering bellows too while im at it im keeping the car so dont mind the expense.

i did tires first because my old front ones got to be unsafe (bald) and had a side wall plugged with slow leak on the back witch did have at least 50-60 miles of tread left on them

this tire is about .25" bigger than 195/60r15 but only 6" wide
im also thinking of adding the doghnut spacer thing to springs for a tiny lift and stiffer spring rate
any thoughts on that idea?
cant wait for some rainy slushy muddy back roads.

My 83 used to be that gold/brown, but 30 years of the arizona sun was not kind to her:

@ simon guey:
Here is my Goldie - Toy called it topaz.
Yeah - the bumper in your last photo is an item many of us would like to have.
Back to your car's color - it looks a heck of a lot more "modern" and less dated than topaz...

i like how much weight you have in the back in that picture.
i lived in az and have family in mimbres nm so i know about the sun on paint
but very little rust/mold in used cars down there.
I sure miss the southwest especially in the pinion/juniper elevation
and the ponderosa/aspen aswell in summer. I think i miss the smell of the forest there
the most sage and pine smell after rain storm.

Tom goldie is a fine modern looking car i now remember i
think i originaly got daisy rims due to your coments seeing picture before.
I no longer sell bike tools at ubt im now working for a bike tool maker in portland or.

Simon,

Yeah, we had 7 alloy rims, a transmission, and who knows what other parts back there, our luggage, plus all the ice on the bottom/sides/top of the car.

We've also taken a 3AC engine in the back of the wagon, 30 bags of playground rubber mulch, also a hatch + transmission at the same time!

Back to your rubbing problem on your wheel, check to see if the dust shield that protects the rotor isnt bent and rubbing on the wheel. This is a extreamly nice looking car , great color sceam Larry :D :D

update on my Tercel.
she been running well and was barely hit in a parking lot the other driver had called his insurance and admitted fault etc. I had to jump through the hoops of calling a body shop they refused it ..then they said they would pick it up with a tow truck to get evaluated ..well they then attempted to give two options : 2400$ and no car or tow it back to me and I drop the claim....I offered them to keep my car and get the $2400 well they continued to not let that be a option. so I said that the transmission and engine etc is worth more than $2400 to me .has collector cult following referred them to this web site etc. and that I will get my Lawers ...boom minute later owner retention approved. and a check in the mail.
>>> I am now in need of a driver side indicator as it is the turn signal since I put fog light on. Let me know if anybody has a spare thanks.
