Rear window replacement?

Post by walrus »

So some scumbags smashed the rear window in my 1984 wagon and now I'm trying to get it replaced. Calling the local auto glass places they're having problems finding one for me. Do you guys have any advice on where to source this, also if anyone knows around what price I should be paying for this. Thanks!

You can redo the searches and sort by your zip code.

Where do you live?

I actually have a spare rear glass, and it has a scratch on it from someone running the rear wiper without a wiper blade ( :( )

I paid $85 for it, and if you want to cover that plus the shipping cost, it is yours!

You paid $85 for scratched rear glass? Seems high. They arent all that hard to come by at a scrap yard.

They're hard to come by when you live in New Mexico, near Colorado and Tercel wagons simply do not exist in wrecking yards! Any Tercels are hoarded by who has them, and if any ends up in a yard, it's a melee getting parts off of it.

I would kill to be near an actual pick and pull yard, the only yards around where I live are the old fashioned type where they charge what they want, and in this case they go on car-part.com and pick the highest price they see. They had wanted $170 for the glass but I talked them into halving it :p
