Re: Christmas time, sorta
i have been wanting to do that for some time. they make these battery powered twinkle lights that would be perfect to put around the back window in side the car. not sure if it is legal, but it would be fun.

we're thinking of just normal christmas lights in the rear quarter windows powered by a small inverter!

ARCHINSTL Pooooop, yeah its from the tercel. Tomorrow( my favorite holiday, pay day) i'll work on the valve cover and get the first break in oil change done.
Irowiki- Yeah I just bought a small little 100w inverter from walmart. it can power multiple strands of LED lights just fine.
I'd love to use the old ceramic c-9 lights with that ol 90's feel, ya know? but it's just too much draw on the car and inverter. Sadly LEDS just don't have that feeling.

Re: Christmas time, sorta
This thread reminds me of one Christmas with my old POS '69 VW Bus (Gen II).
As you recall, those had large and long windows on the sliding door and its opposite on the DS.
I took a bunch of 12V turn signal bulbs I scrounged from when I worked in a gas station when saving for the bike shop, used some kind of "transparent" paints on them, strung them together and rigged up a connection to the bus' electrical system. Mind, strictly Mickey Mouse wiring...
I taped them all around those two long windows.
The kids and their friends loved it!
My ex and the other parents at their parochial school hated it!
Mission accomplished on both fronts!
Of course, the other parents hated seeing the old rustbucket parked in the car pool anyway... This was a la-de-da 'hood we'd moved into when I still worked for a good wage at a Fortune 500 company, before I opened the bicycle store...
