Oil light wont go away.

Post by shambug »

I just replaced my oil pump. I disconnected all the plug spark wires and cranked the engine for 30 sec. then i tried pouring oil in the block and cranking still wont go out. Im pretty sure I put the oil pick up in right with a new gasket. Was told I did not need to prime the oil pump.

i would start the engine, then if the oil light did not go off within a few seconds I might begin to worry
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

YAAA!! Terceli runs again. Thanks everyone for your help, I could not have done it without you. But of course the oil pan is leaking so ill have redo that. I think i can do it without removing the front of the engine, Just loosening engine bolts, remove engine plates, lift up the engine drop the stabilizer and maybe take the radiator out. Then redo the seal. Its that dam bolt in the back, no way to get a torque wrench in there. any ticks. I smashed a 10mm socket into a small wrench and i can at least get to it now, maybe a 1/8 turn each time. A lot better then the 1/20th of a turn the wrench by it self could do. It took me over 2 hours last time to get the threading started. which is why I think its leaking now. Ill try starting with that bolt this time and try my hardest to tighten them down even, tight and fast.
