For those miles and a bad transmission that is a steep price.

Re: 86 4WD Wagon
I know... we did a lot of work on this car, only to have the trans I got with 175k go bad in 6 mo. If someone puts in a Petros trans with (hopefully) an external oil pump, it would be a great daily driver!

But think of the money you don't have to spend on what's been done already, more than $1600 if you paid a mechanic for itirowiki wrote:For those miles and a bad transmission that is a steep price.

Re: 86 4WD Wagon
actually Xirdneh is the guy with all of the extra trans, and will building you a good one for a fair price.
Current value has little relationship to what you paid, unfortunately it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That is a high price for a car with a bad trans. if you want top dollar for it, best to fix it and than sell it. if a car needs even minor repairs it often make it unsellable, let alone a major repair like replacing a transmission.

Re: 86 4WD Wagon
agreed with petros. there's no harm in trying to sell it for what you're asking but be aware that most buyers won't want to pay that much for a car that is still going to require major work.

Very few of us take our Tercels to mechanics here
