Keith... The Corolla with the 1ZZ-FE engine has a single row timing chain, I saw inside one the other day when the valve cover was off. Many Corollas with this engine still have the original chain well past 200k miles. They seem to be fairly reliable.

Regular oil changes really do extend the life of a timing chain.
