eBay "carrier assembly" from 1983-84 T4WD

EDIT: I changed the subject line because the tranny is no longer available... but several "carrier assemblies" are (see post on 3/7/14, below)

seller also has two auctions for a "Carrier Assembly" to fit a 1984 T4WD -- $200 each + freight
I assume a "carrier assembly" is the same as a rear differential??

Haha Carrier assembly it's been years since I've heard that

Sounds like the seller is aware that the rear must match the transaxle.
For me "carrier assembly" is a complete rear axle.

the "carrier assembly" might just be the word they are using for the third member, the part that carries the ring and pinion, bearings, and the input shaft seal.

Front assembly ??? must be the bell housing with diff.
I wonder if they get that much $ i would almost give one away to keep a car on the road.

Yes the big one and the one on the other side you can't see in the photo.

If your car is 1983 it is probably 3.73 but I want you to confirm this first

Well it's 4.1 as far as I can tell it's awfully hard to count the little back Gear on account that there are so many missing teeth
