Can you look up something in 1985-88 FSM for me

Post by xirdneh »

I do not have an 1985-1988 Factory Service Manual (FSM)
I have a broken 1986 transmission that I took apart hoping to fix.
I am having a problem with the ”interlock pins”
This transmission only had two interlock pins
In my 1983 FSM “TRANSAXLE MANUAL TRANSMISSION” section page TA-49, fig 35-c shows three pins Installed, two long and one short pin in the middle.
I think that maybe this tranny had been apart before and someone left out the middle pin?
I was wondering if someone that has a 1986-1988 FSM would look it up (how many pins)
I am on dial-up so trying to download the FSM is not an option for me
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

Just checked my '88 fsm- page mt-45 item (g) reads "install the 3 interlock pins. Coat MP grease to the interlock pin."

Illustration ZMO242 has a blow-up of 3 interlock pins' a long one on each end and a short one in the center. Sounds pretty much like your earlier fsm.

Good luck, hope this helps.
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!
