We're all a bunch of over grown children petros!

Gottolovem - That sounds like a lot of fun, and definitely video worthy.

I'm going to go warm up the garage with shop lights for a little, then hopefully get something done.

Anybody know of any 14" steel wheels that can use the stock 7" hub cap....or that can be modified to accept the hub cap?

I think the 14" corolla steel wheels might take the stock Tercel hub caps.

Can anyone tell me what this lil member is? Image
And where the Vacuum connection for it connects too?? Pictured is a small diaphragm, underneath the EGR Valve and EGR valve modulator.
This diaphragm is not mentioned in my FSM diagram.

that's the A/C kick up diaphragm. it's used to increase the RPM at idle when using AC. if you have removed or disabled your AC, you can disconnect and plug the vacuum lines that go to the diaphragm. if you're still using your AC, the AC section of the FSM might have info on the vacuum routing and how to set the kick up arm.

I knew somebody would know, thanks alot. I actually did end up removing the AC. After plugging the vacuum lines on behalf of the AC, would it be a good idea to remove the AC relay from the fuse box?

I would leave the relay there because I think it might be the same as others in the fuse box. Then you are carrying around a spare.

I would just remove the device off the carb, and cap the vac line, to get it out of the way, and leave the rest. less risk of having problems because you removed something you should not.

Marlinh- You're right about the relay, it's the same 22 amp as the main. I did remove it however, just so the AC circuit stops at the fuse box. I figure this is a good measure to take to avoid fewer electrical issues down the road. I now keep the spare in the glove box. For some reason it doesn't fit on the blank pole in the fuse box.
Petros- I removed the VSV from the car and left the diaphragm attached to the carb with a cap to keep moister out. I'll probably end up just removing it.

Turns out, I paid $500 for the car, but technically, I actually got the car for $497.71..... after cleaning out from underneath the back seat. lol.
Also, I may or may not of been a home-wrecker under there.

Anyways. I'm searching for pictures, or resources, for making a platform between the front and back seats, that when folded, and with the front seat all the way forward, will allow for a flat sleeping surface. I might also consider removing the back seat and making a longer platform, for a more even surface.
I then plan on buying a futon mattress and removing some of it's fluff for a narrower width , then make incisions for the wheel wells and then sew it all back up.
I read in another post that Another member had done something like this. Just wanted to see pictures for ideas/inspiration.

I heard quip about this over the weekend: "what is the difference between men, and government bonds?"

k2750, i don't have time to look right now but try searching for stuff like wood, platform, french, bed, that sort of thing. i know at least one of the french guys on the forum did a nice job of building a wooden platform in the back for a bed. there were pics of it too. if you can't find it i'll try looking as well in the next day or two.

I do not recall it was a french Tercel, but someone had built up a wood platform with about 10" of storage under it in compartments. so the bed was on top, and the rear foot well and the whole area under the bed was storage.

If you remove the rear seat completely, how to make a full length plywood platform will become obvious. One highly recommended detail however is to have the bed anchored town to the pan is some way, screws, brackets, even bungee cord loops, so if you get in an accident or should roll over, all the stuff in the back stays secure rather than a hazard to you.

Two who did were takza and kamiphloj, both now inactive; try using "platform" with their names in a Search,.. There was at least one more, but I forget whom.
