Seems to me lately that since ebay and carsales.com.au have put there prices up a lot of sellers are now using gumtree to sell for free (I guess it's like craigslist?) currently it has a few from rust free non runners from $600 to really clean low kms versions for $4,400! all Manuals as we never got the Auto box in Aus.
For Tercels. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-tercel/k0x
There is usually a lot more Corolla 4wd wagons (All-tracs in the states) but they are a bit thin on the ground right now
For Corolla Awd wagons http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-corolla+wagon/k0
Good luck!

Re: Searching for a car in Australia
wow, looks like a lot of great t4wd to choose from down under. One however looks odd, it says 1990 Tercel wagon, but it looks more like a 1984 based on rear wiper and radio antenna location, or did you get this model of Tercel all the way into 1990?

Re: Searching for a car in Australia
Defiantly a typo by the seller. All of our T4wds Have the flush lights though but the grill on the later ones is different as well as the changes you mentioned.
That one from the Northern Territory with the smashed window probably hit a roo judging by the damage!

a Roo slayer? I also noticed someone selling a front bash bar for a Tercel4wd, likely a good investment if you live in an area of high roo infestation.

Re: Searching for a car in Australia
David, Even in Aus I think that is a lot of money for a hight millage base model. I sold mine with 215,000kms and all options.. not quite as good condition for half that price.
Many Corolla 4wd's on ebay actually right now. Haven't seen a Tercel for a while though
