Starter Wiring

Post by marcandfiveonettes »

HELP!

I replaced my transmission and it works but I forgot how to wire my starter.

there are a total of 4 wires (or ends) that I think need to go to the starter

one of them is obvious because it has a little plastic harness on the starter.

There is on that has a plastic housing that I believe goes to the stud on the bottom.

then there are two more that split from the same harness but look like they maybe go together (seems weird that they would split and then rejoin a few inches later)

do these both go on the mount bolt on the back of the starter?

thanks

there are only two wires that go to the starter. one is directly from the positive battery terminal that goes on the threaded stud and the other is the little wire with a plastic clip that goes on next to the stud. check the rest of the plugs and make sure you don't have another one that is unused.

that looks correct. the other connectors either goes to the distributor (green round one) or to the trans for the back up light. there is also one round green one that is is not used, a test plug I think.
