On Adding Photos...

Post by ARCHINSTL »

I had been using PhotoBucket to store and add photos.
I recently discovered (a Eureka! moment for me...) that photos can be attached directly from my 'puter to the posting composition area (word?)!
A plus to this method is that they can be easily enlarged by the viewer by simply left-clicking.
A (seeming) disadvantage is that pertinent comments cannot be posted above each photo - which would be handy in giving a step-by-step tutorial.
Is that the only disadvantage?
Or for some unknown-to-me security reasons should I continue using PhotoBucket?

i like using photobucket because i never know when i'm going to download a virus that will send my comp into a fit. sure, they photobucket could crash anytime too, but i don't think so. and if they do they've probably got all that crap saved somewhere in their FBI files on me...whoah, i think takza's spirit just inhabited me for a second there.

Since your talking about photos how do you get them smaller. I use photobucket but when I post them here I only get half the picture like in my post in the gallery viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5912

any help or suggestions appreciated

i downloaded some picture editing thing. it's stupid easy, i can just right-click on photos, select resize, select the # of pixels, and it does it. so i guess you just gotta download some software. sorry i don't know the name of mine but i'm sure there's a zillion of them out there.

There's Paint, GIMP and Paint.net for windows, they all work.

As for image hosts you can host it on here by clicking Attachments or goto google and search for "Free Image Host" and a bunch will pop up.

to save space in your threads and still give members a large picture to reference, you can post the "IMG THUMB" code from photobucket, puts a smaller, clickable pic in the middle of your thread - and photobucket's editor is easy to use as well (inserting colored arrows, text, etc.)
