Will '85 rear window fit '87 Tercel wagon?

I have a 1987 DL Wagon in need of a rear window, and have a lead on a 1985 one. Anyone know if they're compatible? Or if the entire hatchback door would work?

hi andrew, yes all the hatches are interchangeable. the plugs for the rear wiper motor differ slightly between the 83/84 and 85/86/87s (i think that's the years they switched). anyway, worse case scenario just grab the vehicle-side plug for the wiper motor and splice it in to your new set up if that's the case. the glass is all the same between all years.

The windows will interchange as will the whole rear hatch. One problem with changing the hatch I noticed is sometimes they change the connector type for the wire harness to the back hatch (connections for the defroster, wiper and backup light). This has always seemed odd to me but perhaps it was a matter of changing from one supplier to another for the smaller connectors. If they are different you can always swap out the connectors. It is usually easier to change the rear window than the whole door (the rubber gasket can be lifted out carefully by hand, or using a putty knife or similar tool).
