Measuring the front bar on my '83 I get .824" diameter or around 13/16", which is .8125".

This shows a poly bushing that would fit with some persuasion:

Best to add an EXTRA iron strap OVER this one since this swaybar also holds the front wheels in place.

----------------

When I look at the "end links" on my car, I see that they both look to be moving up and down in the control arm by around 1/8" at least. A cross-section of this part in the manual shows that one side of the rubber bushings (front) is hollow...I'm thinking of cutting 2 small holes in this part and injecting polyurethane caulk or silicone caulk in to stiffen it.

Could also add spacers on the "bolt" area to increase the overall stiffness some. There is a sleeve on the threaded part that might need to be shortened some.

Would need to reset caster and toe when done.

Just putting this out as an idea.

Is that a trick question? :D Im thinking when I go to 14"s,I could do a few suspension up-grades(Via you and your buddy down-in-Aussieland),put new tires on and have all the aline-ment stuff done at the same time. B)

A front swaybar upgrade is probably doable and overdue for a car with over 200K miles. I'm fairly sure the 13/16" bushings would work as is...but would want to add some extra metal over the top of what they send for extra strength.

The stock bracket might work....poly could be ground down if needed?

Would also be feasible to drill a hole in the poly towards the center and add a grease zerk thru the metal to grease it.

The end link parts might be used as is...maybe with a little shimming to reduce slop?

After new exhaust, valve adjustment, roof rack....comes the swaybar. And I'm going to TRY the rear 750 lb spring boosters to see if they fit & work OK.

So much to do...so little time....I'm late... I'm late....for a very important date..... :o
