I was looking at an '87 Saab 900 Turbo with 187K on it...sitting for sale at a local Saab mechanic's place...not the 900S...which has more power. So what does this have to do with a Metro XFI?

Seems I can't get past my sports car fixation....always wanted to drive a Saab...but sure don't need one with 187K on it....though it seems I do like to work on cars.

My other fixation seems to be mpg....and that there FXI is the creme de la creme in that category? I could put up with what...1L...for that kind of mpg.

An xfi can pull 60+mpgs in the summer driving extremely nice. It was more/less a free car after all my wheel/dealing and eventually gas will shoot back up. Something about getting better MPG's than most motorcycles is fun :)

You've had 15 of these?!??! My friends thought I was nuts when I bought my '88 Sprint. It was a carb'ed model that never got more than 45mpg, I got it because I had an 80 mile round trip commute for school. But I love a light, efficient car too - you can't argue with their utilitarianness. To heck with hybrids!
It's a scientific fact that in a twin engine aircraft, when one engine fails there is always enough power in the remaining engine to make it all the way to the crash site.
